A wellbeing day only works if people show up and feel the difference. The hard part is choosing activities that appeal to everyone: the marathon runner and the person who dreads anything physical, the extrovert and the colleague who hates icebreakers.
A sound bath solves that problem. It is low effort, deeply relaxing and fully inclusive, which is why it is often the activity people talk about most afterwards. Here is how to plan one into your wellbeing day.
Why is a sound bath a good wellbeing day activity?
A sound bath works well on a wellbeing day because anyone can take part. There is no fitness level, special clothing or social performance involved. Employees lie on a mat, close their eyes and listen to live instruments for around 45 minutes. It gives people a genuine rest in the middle of the working day, which is exactly what most wellbeing days set out to do.
It also looks and feels special. Our sessions feature a live Concert harp alongside Himalayan singing bowls, a Tibetan gong and percussion, so it feels like an event, not just another workshop.
When to schedule the sound bath
Timing makes a big difference to attendance and impact.
Late morning works well as a calm opener after a busy start.
Just after lunch is popular, because it meets the natural afternoon dip.
End of day makes a lovely close, sending people home relaxed.
Avoid back-to-back meetings straight after. People can feel deeply relaxed, so give them 10 minutes to come round.
How many sessions do you need?
Each of our sessions welcomes up to 25 people. Work out how many staff are likely to attend, then divide by 25. Extra sessions on the same day cost £300 each when they run within an hour of each other.
For example, three back-to-back sessions for up to 75 people cost £1,250 in total (£650 for the first, plus £300 for each additional session). Travel within London zones 1 to 6, mats, blankets and eye masks are all included. See full details on our corporate sound healing page.
What space do you need?
A quiet room with enough floor space for mats laid side by side. Boardrooms with the table moved, breakout spaces, event floors and roof terraces all work. Try to pick a room away from lifts, kitchens and loud phone areas. Our guide to hosting an on-site sound bath in your London office covers the logistics step by step.
